Our beloved Imam Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, Supreme Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Community, returned to London on 19th October 2008 after his blessed visit to Europe encompassing Paris, Holland, Germany and Belgium. In this short visit, his holiness inaugurated the first purpose-built mosques in France and Germany.

The Mubarak Mosque in France, situated on the outskirts of Paris,  is the first purpose-built mosque of the country’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The  ‘Khadijah Mosque’ in Berlin (Germany) is situated in the Eastern part of Berlin, and is also the first purpose-built mosque of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the area.

Allah the Almighty has provided everyone a place of worship where one can practise one’s religion. The structure and the appearance of places of worship usually express whether they belong to Jewish persons, Christians, Hindus or Muslims. Bells, crosses, minarets and domes reveal whether they are followers of Hadhrat Moses(as), Hadhrat  Jesus(as), Hadhrat Krishna(as) or Hadhrat Muhammad(saw). Minarets and domes are normally symbols of mosques and a great source of preaching and propagating the message of Islam. These visual structures reveal even from a distance the presence of a mosque where Muslims gather together and glorify the name of the One and Only God.

The purpose of building mosques is to firstly glorify the name of the One and the only God. Secondly so that mankind remains submissive and obedient to Allah’s Command and to worship and seek  the pleasure of Allah so that He may continue to guide us along the right path. These are the basic principles on which Mosques are constructed and established. There will be no other call apart from that of love for humanity, affection, reconciliation, justice and peace.

Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V said on one occasion:

The Ahmadiyya Community that knows how to stand united under one hand through Khilafat, that practises the true Islam due to its bond with the Messiah of Muhammad(saw) will never let this message die. This mosque of ours and any mosques that we will build in the future in this country or else where will emerge as a sign of peace and security. We are the people who respect the prophets and messenger of every religion and we respect mankind. This is because we believe in each and every prophet. We are certain that prophets came to every nation of the world and as we have seen from the excerpts of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community all the prophets came to establish the rights of Allah the Almighty and His people and this is what the Qur’an has taught has. And it is this that has been presented before us in the example of the Holy Prophet(saw). Therefore if the deeds of a few have presented a false image of Islam then it does not mean that the fault lies with the teaching.’

The new mosques of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will definitely draw the attention of the people of their respective areas towards Islam and that, undoubtedly, will lead to new avenues for preaching the real and true teachings of Islam.

In this edition, we are featuring the two addresses of the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community delivered in Canada and Germany  that  give an insight to the true teachings of Islam.
