Peter Sanders – A Fascinating Collection

Join us for an exhibit of the fascinating collection of photographs and thought-provoking talks by Peter Sanders at The Review of Religions’ exhibition 2018 in collaboration with Razwan Baig in Surrey this August.

Peter Sanders, a renowned photographer of the Muslim world, will display his fascinating collection of photographs, providing a unique glimpse into the daily lives of ordinary Chinese Muslims throughout the country. Ranked amongst 500 most influential Muslims in the world, Peter’s journey in photography began in the 1960s as one of the leading rock and roll photographers capturing world-famous images of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones. After accepting Islam Peter dedicated his photographic expertise to capturing images of the Muslim world to foster greater understanding of the Islamic faith. His Hajj collection helped form a special exhibition at the British Museum. For over 45 years he captured over half a million images reflecting a rich traditional civilisation. His intimate photographs of the sacred cities of Makkah and Madinah are in great demand.

One part of The Review of Religions’ exhibition is themed as ‘Islam in the East: Journeys along the silk road’, where visitors will walk through the uplifting and inspirational photography experience of Peter Sanders’ unique perspective of Islam and cultures along the Silk Road, particularly Persia and China.

Peter Sanders will be delivering an interactive talk on different topics all three days of the ‘Islam in the East‘ exhibition.
