“That’s it, that’s gone, that’s ended…”
Jonathan Butterworth distinctly remembers when, back in 2009, he was teaching EU law in London and had come to the end of the course. His students got up and left at the end of the final lesson. One by one, they thanked Mr. Butterworth and he replied that it had been a pleasure to teach them.
Then nothing. He remembers wondering “is that it?”. All his hard work had led to this moment and it was over.
“Every heart wants to find that ultimate source of love”
This made him think hard about how transient and temporary life was. It made him determined to see if there was more to life. So he went on a spiritual journey. He meditated in a Buddhist monastery in the foothills of the Himalayas.
