Jalsa Salana/Annual Conventions

People of Jalsa: Capturing the Voice of the Caliph

Meet Tahir Ahmad as he prepares the microphone that will capture the words of the Caliph…

After many days of waiting, the first day of Jalsa Salana is already flying by. The Friday Sermon has concluded but the Jalsa machinery continues to operate on full throttle, gearing towards the next stage of this three-day convention.

Next up is the flag hoisting ceremony, the customary tradition where the Caliph of the Ahmadiya Muslim Community officially inaugurates the first session of Jalsa — symbolised through the hoisting of the Liwa-e-Ahmadiyyat (flag of Ahmadiyyat) and silent prayers.

Tahir Ahmad, a member of MTA International, knows that time is against him as he expertly adjusts the microphone that will carry the voice of the Caliph across the world — from Australia to Argentina
