The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa)

A Glimpse into the Life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa)

His Generous Treatment of the Makkans

When Allah vouchsafed to him the conquest of Makkah the people thereof were trembling with fear at the treatment which might be meted out to them. The residents of Madinah who had not themselves seen the tortures to which the Muslims had been subjected and had only heard of them from other people, were very much enraged at the thought of them. But when he entered Makkah he gathered together the people and said ‘O ye people, I forgive today all the wrongs which you have done to me; ye shall not be punished.’ If there had been no wars and he had not been made a King, how could he become a perfect model for mankind and how could he display this aspect of human morals?[1]
