Jalsa Salana UK 2021 Inauguration: Offering Prayers Behind Huzoor (aba) After More Than 18 Months

The Jalsa Gah at Hadiqatul Mahdi

Reporting from Hadiqatul Mahdi, UK

The inauguration for Jalsa Salana UK 2021 was held today at Hadiqatul Mahdi (the Jalsa site), and was graced by the presence of His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba).

Not many workers/duty holders were aware that Huzoor (aba) would be leading the Zuhr (early afternoon prayer) and Asr (late afternoon prayer) prayers at the inauguration. Many were taken by surprise when Huzoor’s (aba) voice was heard through the microphone. An overwhelming surge in emotion could be felt in the Lajna Jalsa Gah.

Praying behind Huzoor (aba) after over 18 months was incredibly special. I feel elated and blessed. Although there will be no Bai’at (initiation) ceremony this year, the opportunity to offer prayers behind Huzoor (aba) will definitely serve as a spiritual cleanse!

My mind kept wondering to the countless Ahmadis around the world – who have never had this opportunity before. Who have never even seen Huzoor (aba). My yearning cannot even compare to theirs.

I grew up in London, around the Fazl Mosque and would spend a lot of my time there, with my parents on duty. The mosque was home. Today, after months and months, I feel like I’m home. My spiritual father has once again united us all in person!

How very fortunate I am to be present here today, as part of a workforce who will be hosting the guests of the Promised Messiah (as) from tomorrow. Alhumdulilah (all praise belongs to Allah).
