Jalsa Salana/Annual Conventions

Experiencing the Blessings of Jalsa Salana UK in Morocco

Yassine Guardane, Uujud Morocco.

(Translated from Arabic into English by Murtaza Ahmad)

Allah the most glorified, the most high, has blessed the Jamaʿat with an opportunity to watch the live proceedings of Jalsa Salana 2021. This is truly a unique and historical Jalsa compared to all the other Jalsas of the past as it is being held against the backdrop of a global pandemic whilst adhering to social distancing and government restrictions.

What is most beautiful is that we are all watching the Khalifa speak regardless of whether we are listening to his addresses in person, or those who like me, are watching the live proceedings from afar. This is bringing so many blessings to the Jamaʿat. Beholding the blessed countenance of Hadrat Syedina Amir al-Mu’minin [the Leader of the Faithful] and the opportunity to listen to his address was an amazing experience for me, particularly the speech on Friday where the Khalifa spoke about the importance of treading upon the path of righteousness and having the fear of Allah. His address awakened my soul, and I imagine other Ahmadis around the world, too. He explained so beautifully about the importance of Taqwa and how to be compassionate and how one ought to suppress their anger in order to gain the love of Allah the Almighty.

I feel that in spite of the government restrictions and the pandemic, the Ahmadis living in the United Kingdom are still fortunate because they are blessed with the opportunity to be physically present in front of Syedina Amir al-Mu’minin (aba) and to also remain in the company of the other Ahmadis from among the Ṣāliḥīn [righteous] and Siddiqīn [very truthful]. Ahmadis attending the Jalsa. I am a 23-year-old convert living in Oujda – a city in northeast Morocco, near the Algerian border. Since I converted to Ahmadiyya Islam I have not had the chance to meet many Ahmadis in person, a Jalsa like this would be an opportunity to enjoy the true brotherhood of Ahmadiyya.

The idea of meeting Hazrat Syedina Amir al-Mu’minin (aba) in person or having the opportunity to offer my prayers behind him is something I can only dream of – in fact, it is something I crave and pray for on a daily basis. I ask the readers to pray that Allah one day allows me the opportunity to meet Syedina Amir al-Mu’minin (aba) and to pray behind him, Insha’Allah. I pray may Allah bless this year’s Jalsa and allow all of us to benefit from it, too.
