The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (also known as the Neasden Temple) is a stunning Hindu temple situated in the heart of London, UK. It is a true marvel of artistry and architecture, featuring intricate carvings, stunning stained glass windows, and beautiful stonework. The temple is a place of worship for many Hindus in the UK, but it is open to visitors of all faiths who wish to admire its beauty and learn about Hindu culture.

The Neasden temple was built by the BAPS organisation using a team of 1,526 sculptors in India under the auspices of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, a 92-year-old holy man in India. At the time, it was the largest Hindu temple ever built outside of India, but larger temples have been constructed since. The complex consists of the temple itself, an assembly hall, a gym, a bookshop, offices and an exhibition on Hinduism. It is a functioning temple serving a large Hindu community in Greater London.

As you enter the temple complex, you are greeted by the serene surroundings and the soft chanting of Vedic hymns in the background, creating an atmosphere for Hindu worshippers to quietly reflect and contemplate. The temple complex also has a beautiful garden that is used for visitors to walk and meditate.

The temple is made of Italian Carrara marble and Bulgarian limestone, which gives it a unique and striking appearance. The architecture of the complex is designed to reflect the attributes of God through metaphorical representations. The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is thus a beautiful example of Indian architecture and craftsmanship, and it offers a glimpse into the rich traditions and culture of Hinduism.

The Neasden Temple hosts a number of events throughout the year, including festivals and cultural celebrations. It is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
