During the seven year course at Jamia Ahmadiyya – the Ahmadiyya Institute for Languages and Theology – future Imams of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community develop a strong, and unique bond with the Caliph, and Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. As Imams, they will be representatives of the Caliph wherever they go, tasked with conveying the true message of Islam. Thus, the Caliph keeps them especially close, in order to personally teach and nurture them to become the best possible ambassadors for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Upon their graduation, the Review of Religions asks these Imams to share an inspiring incident or experience which they had with the Caliph over the span of their seven year studies. The following is one such incident:
Salman Qamar, Class of 2017
An occasion when my faith in Khalifatul Masih (aba) (the Caliph) grew and I realised that this man had to be divinely guided was when my parents were ready to move to Germany. My mother really wanted me to move with them, rather she didn’t want to leave me behind. So she told me to ask Huzoor (His Holiness (aba)) for guidance in my upcoming Mulaqat(private audience). A few days later when I went for my meeting with Khalifatul Masih I didn’t have the courage to ask him. So the Mulaqatcame to its end and I shook Huzoor’s (aba) hand. When I was about to let go of his hand he pulled me back and asked me if I also wanted to move back with my parents. I replied that I do not but it was my mother’s wish. Huzoor (aba) smiled and said that you should stay here and carry on with your studies in Jamia here. I was in a state of shock, because I hadn’t mentioned anything regarding this matter. And Alhamdulillah(all praise belongs to Allah) I have felt the blessings of this blessed decision up until I completed my Jamia course last year and continue to do so.
