Mr. Jolyn Martyn Clark

Clark-Jalsa-2012

Mr. Jolyn Martyn Clark at the Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at UK, 2012

Along with other guests, Mr. Jolyn Clark was given the opportunity to deliver brief remarks in the presence of His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 5th Successor to the Promised Messiah and Head of the Ahmadiyya Community. Some of the comments by Mr. Jolyn Clark were:

“…In 1897 Henry Martyn Clark filed a complaint against Huzur [i.e. Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, the Promised Messiah] whom he had alleged had plotted to murder him. Huzur behaved impeccably believing rightly that the truth was above the lies being perpetrated towards him….Henry returned to lecture at Edinburgh University on tropical diseases. He died and is buried at the Dean cemetery. For a man who had a large influence in India and Scotland it really is a little sad and lonely. I did not discover the grave until recently. Henry had dissolved into the mists of time…”

Referring to his visit to 2 mosques of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in London, Mr. Jolyn Clark said:

“The highlight was an audience with his holiness [i.e. Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 5th Successor to the Promised Messiah, current Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community]. It is very difficult to put in words what I felt; the depth of feeling, warmth and understanding I have never felt before. He was a good man, a great leader; sincerity with humility. I was shaken – I still am. I returned for the Peace Conference and we spoke again. I had the same feelings as I do now. I have returned to the beginning. Shocked and pleasantly surprised by the reception I have had. I never dreamed I would find out so much…[Mr. Clark concluded by saying:] I am indeed indebted to your ‘Love For All and Hatred for None,’ which has been my theme within my own family and also my practice and will continue to be so.”
