Does Islam Belong Here?

Islam, a diverse, universal and cosmopolitan religion is filled with beauty and endless magnificence and wonder; however, the root of this infinite aesthetic excellence can only be fully realised, justified and completely understood when the Holy Words of Allah the Almighty are read.

As the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas said, ‘The only place where a man is safe and gets comfort is the secluded place of God,’ and when looking at the deeper meaning of this quotation, we see that true inner beauty, peace and solace can only be achieved once one has made leaps towards Allah the Almighty in His remembrance.’

‘The only place where a man is safe and gets comfort is the secluded place of God,’ and when looking at the deeper meaning of this quotation, we see that true inner beauty, peace and solace can only be achieved once one has made leaps towards Allah the Almighty in His remembrance.’

When a person comes across Islam, and Islam Ahmadiyyat in particular, the effects of this beauty is such that cannot be aptly described much less compared to anything else. Finding the words to express this astonishing beauty that no other religion exemplifies so well is not a difficult task:

Imagine the comfort one feels when seeing the first glimpses of the rising sun; the golden light of its rays brightening the blue of the sky with warm hues of reds and oranges, as it begins its burning ascent into the heavens that we look upon in awe. Remember the feel of the morning breeze, chilled as it nips at the skin of our faces and invades our senses with the refreshing knowledge that a new day has come, and then contemplate the peace of mind as utter tranquillity is softly broken by the sound of birds; their chirping a chorus of dulcet tones as they begin the morning prayer in praise of their Lord, leading nature’s morning prayer as we proceed to begin ours in kind. A prayer in praise of the One who allowed this day to come; the One who maintains perfect balance in nature; the One who allows breath to fill our lungs; and the One who’s name is sounded by the beat of our hearts.

This feeling of absolute comfort and relief that is sought when the Almighty Allah has been beseeched by His servants is the true beauty within Islam. The unique submission to Allah that the perfect religion teaches and practices so stunningly in unison, led by one Caliph, one Messiah, one Law Bearing Prophet, and one God, reaches out and touches the soul in a way that fills all voids, satisfies all desires and answers the questions of our purpose, poised on the tongue of many.

Ahmadi Muslims believe that Islam is a religion of perfection, brought by Allah the Almighty’s perfect creation the Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammadsa, and reformed by the sound teachings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, that only reinforced the original message of peace, love of Allah and love of humanity. It is in this love that the beauty sought by many lays. A beauty coveted by other religions, pursued by those yearning to find their Creator, and a beauty so vast, inspiring and truly awesome that one hundred and twenty-four thousand God-Appointed Prophets were entrusted to deliver its Divine message.

In looking at the global society, we see the sad state of the worldly affairs, and a recurring attack on Islam with ‘Islamophobia’ being at the forefront of the news more often than not. Unfortunately, the image of Islam and the teaching of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammadsa being portrayed is a highly negative one, and one that does not accurately show the true brilliance the light of Islam has to offer. The worldwide head and the Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaba who is currently in Germany and is addressing the tens of thousands of people who have arrived to attend a 3-day peace convention, has stressed on numerous occasions that it is an issue that must be dealt with, but not only by words, but by action. Adequate action must be taken to ensure such views are no longer held. Actions that highlight the beauty Islam is offering the world, rather than the bloodshed we continue to see.

As time progresses, we find more and more people entering the folds of Islam, having realised the beauty of our religion and having embraced it with no intentions of ever letting go. This increase in the numbers within the community is a wonderful thing to witness, but another point must be made. When one comes across a beautiful light, they must let that light be seen by others so that they may also bask in its warmth and comfort. When truly reflecting on the beauty Islam has to offer the world, and in remembrance of the task the Holy Prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammadsa had with bringing this new message to all of mankind, we should be thankful to Allah the Almighty for this great blessing. As Muslims, great emphasise is laid in spreading the wonder, and wisdom of Islam to others; as is their rightful duty. Not just a mere duty but in accordance with the two principles that Islam teaches its followers: the Haququllah and Haququl’Ibaad- the rights of Allah and the rights of Men.

Germany has seen a great influx of Muslims entering on its soil and the message which the religion is bringing with it, is a life-long message of peace, brotherhood, love, cohesion and unity. As the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community stated, the ardent desire, the means of (our) existence is to serve humanity and to serve it in the best way possible.
