WORLD FAITHS : Trust in God

And how many an animal there is that carries not its own sustenance! Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

ISLAM, THE HOLY QURA’N 29:61

Al Bara bin Azibra related that the Holy Prophetsa is reported to have said: ‘…O Allah! I have surrendered myself over to you and have turned my face towards You, and leave all my affairs to You and depend on You and put my trust in You expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment…’

ISLAM, THE HOLY PROPHETSA, THE HADITH OF SAHIH BUKHARI

If you become one with God, rest assured that God too will be yours. God Almighty shall remain awake for you as you sleep. God shall watch over your enemy and frustrate their designs, while you are unmindful of him. You still do not know the extent of God’s powers. Had you known, not a single day would you have grieved over the world. Does he who owns a treasure weep, cry and become sorrowful unto death over the loss of a single coin? Had you been aware of this treasure and knew that at every time of need God is able to fulfill your requirements, why would you look to the world so restlessly? God is a precious treasure; appreciate Him accordingly, for He is your Helper at every step. You are nothing without Him, nor do your resources and your schemes amount to anything.

ISLAM, PROMISED MESSIAHAS, NOAH’S ARK, P.35-36

Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord guards the city,
the guard keeps watch in vain.
 It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives sleep to his beloved.

CHRISTIANITY, THE BIBLE, PSALMS 127:1-2

Whoever has bread in his basket to eat today and says: What shall I eat tomorrow, meaning he does not know how he will acquire bread for tomorrow, he is nothing other than from those of little faith. One must trust in God to provide him with his sustenance.

JUDAISM, TALMUD, SOTAH 48B

The restless mind is not fixed at one spot;
Like a deer it nibbles at tender shoots.
Should man lodge in mind the divine lotus feet,
His life span is lengthened, his mind awakened, immortal he becomes.
All beings are in the grip of anxiety;
But by contemplation of God comes joy.

SIKHISM, ADI GRANTH, RAMKALI DAKHNI ONKAR, M.1, P. 932

Those who cast off sin through this knowledge, absorbed in the Lord and established in him as their one goal and refuge, are not reborn as separate creatures.

HINDUISM, BHAGVAD GITA, CHAPTER 5:17
