Jalsa Salana is conducted based on the spirit of service. People from all walks of life take leave from their worldly jobs, and volunteer at the Jalsa Salana, often times in fields that are completely different from their profession of line of work.
Over the years, volunteers become experts with the hands on experience that they get from working at the Jalsa Salana. In fact, carrying out these duties equips them with skills which they can practically use throughout their lives.
The greatest thing about it, is that it is all done for a higher purpose, for a greater cause. The Review of Religions spoke to a volunteer who has been volunteering at the Jalsa Salana for almost his entire life, and got his take on the spirit of service.
