Mirza Masroor Ahmad – The Most Beautiful, Most Kind Person in the World

Mirza Masroor Ahmad Caliph Ahmadiyya kind love beloved

Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), Fifth Caliph and Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

Atiya Saleem, Canada

I have personally experienced the Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) to be extremely loving, considerate, and concerned for the well-being of the members of his community.

I was expecting my first child and was in London with my husband visiting our beloved Caliph (aba). Back then His Holiness (aba) used to live at the Fazl Mosque complex in London. One day the Caliph (aba) had an address to deliver at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, and my husband and I saw this as a great opportunity to see our beloved Caliph (aba) off and wave to him as he departed. So we did just that.

After the address ended we thought to avail another opportunity to see our beloved Caliph (aba) when he arrived and once again convey our Salaam [Islamic greeting of peace] to him.  Once again we did just that. It was absolutely revitalising,  comforting, and just a beautiful experience to stand so close by and exchange this greeting with His Holiness (aba).

But something unusual happened as the Caliph (aba) was walking towards his residence. One of the staff members came up to my husband and said that the Caliph (aba) had sent a message for him, saying don’t keep your wife standing (so much).  We could not believe what had just happened and there were many reasons for this.

Firstly, I was so humbled and so touched by the fact that our beloved Caliph (aba) had remembered I was expecting. With the burden of the entire world on his shoulders, the Caliph, Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) does not forget even the smallest, most personal issues of his Jama’at [Community] members. I  was so touched by how much the Caliph (aba) cared; had my own father been standing there, perhaps even he wouldn’t have thought that I should be sitting and not standing.

While it was such a beautiful experience – just as all encounters with the Caliph (aba) are – my husband and I were a bit sad as well. We regretted doing something which made the Caliph (aba) concerned. We thought and thought and discussed all night whether His Holiness (aba) did not like that we stood outside waiting for him. We agreed that we should be ready for anything the Caliph (aba) might say. Although we have received nothing but the purest love and kindness from His Holiness (aba), we prepared ourselves for anything!

We were so consumed by all these thoughts, that before we knew it, the next day had dawned. Early in the morning my husband was called into the Caliph’s Private Secretary’s office. Naturally we were both nervous! We had already spent the night overthinking the events from the day before, wondering whether we might be in some sort of trouble!

When my husband came back to the house, his face was lit up with both surprise and happiness. We were given two envelopes, one for each of us with our names on them, containing gifts for the both of us. We were told it is from the Caliph (aba).

This is the love of our beloved Caliph (aba). While we were thinking such negative thoughts, our beloved Caliph (aba) was also thinking of us, which he so lovingly expressed by sending us gifts. We were humbled and till this day feel like the luckiest people on earth, to receive such love from the most beautiful, most kind person in this world.
